Battle of Fort Stevens 155th Anniversary

No offense to anyone else at the commemoration, I think the reason to watch this is Professor Jonathan Noyalas’s keynote presentation on the Battle of Cool Spring. It’s excellent. To get to it, skip ahead to the 1 hour 11 minute mark [1:11:00].

The video’s description reads, “The Battle of Fort Stevens was fought in the northwest section of Washington, D.C., in July 1864, when Confederate forces under General Jubal Early probed the capital city’s defenses before turning back. The National Park Service and the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses of Washington commemorated the battle’s 155th anniversary with speakers, interpreters, and musical tributes. Performers included Doug Jimerson and the Civil War Comrades, and the Washington Revels Jubilee Voices.”
