American Civil War Museum Annual Symposium, Part 1

Here’s Professor James I. Robertson, Jr. giving an excellent [as usual] presentation on the results of Virginia’s Sesquicentennial project to digitize letters and diary entries from the Civil War era that Virginians had at their homes and had previously been unpublished. The project resulted in a book, Civil War Echoes: Voices From Virginia, 1861-1890. This came from the 2018 American Civil War Museum Symposium at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

The video’s description reads, “Historians gather in Richmond, Virginia to present talks on the lives of ordinary Americans during the Civil War.”
