Here’s Ranger Karlton Smith giving a lecture as part of the Gettysburg National Military Park’s 2017 Winter Lecture Series. This one is on Mary Surratt, who was executed for being part of the conspiracy that resulted in the murder of President Abraham Lincoln.
The video’s description reads, “In 1865, Mary Surratt became the first woman executed by the Federal Government. Join Ranger Karlton Smith and examine Mary Surratt’s guilt or innocence in connection with the Lincoln Assassination conspiracy. Was she completely innocent or did she, as stated by President Andrew Johnson ‘keep the nest that hatched the egg?’ ”
