Army of Tennessee’s Assault at Franklin

Here’s Lee White at the 2016 Emerging Civil War Symposium discussing the assault Hood’s Army of Tennessee made at the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee.

The video’s description reads, “Lee White talked about the Confederate Army of Tennessee’s failed assault at the Battle of Franklin. In November 1864, after Union General William Sherman captured Atlanta and began his ‘March to the Sea,’ Confederate General John Bell Hood engaged his rear forces on the way to Nashville. Mr. White argued that this assault was more devastating to Confederates than the well-known Pickett’s charge at Gettysburg.”
