Here’s Steve Davis talking about John Bell Hood’s assault at Atlanta. Steve is an engaging speaker and this is a really good presentation. This is another presentation from the Emerging Civil War 2016 Symposium.
The video’s description reads, “Stephen Davis talked about the 1864 Battle of Atlanta and the engagements on July 22 just outside the city. He focused on Confederate General John Bell Hood’s attack on Union forces commanded by William Tecumseh Sherman. Mr. Davis compared General Hood’s tactics and the state of his army to those of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson at 1863 Battle of Chancellorsville. Atlanta eventually fell to Sherman’s troops about six weeks later.”
