Sacred Trust 2016 Day One

This year’s Sacred Trust took place during the Battle of Gettysburg anniversary events, so I wasn’t able to attend the whole program as I normally do. The Gettysburg Foundation posted the videos from this year’s Sacred Trust, so I’m going to post them here.

The first day was a panel discussion on combat from Gettysburg to Afghanistan moderated by Supervisory Historian Chris Gwinn. The panelists were Dr. James Campbell of the US Air Force Academy, who is also a retired US Army general and a combat veteran; Ranger Bill Hewitt, who is also a retired US Army lieutenant colonel and a combat veteran; Professor Carol Reardon of Penn State University, one of my favorite military historians; and Dr. Alexander Rose.

The video picks up the conversation in progress, but we didn’t miss a lot. The conversation is really good and provides us some excellent insights.
