1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign

Here’s Jeffry Wert discussing Sheridan and Early and their Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1864. It’s a good presentation, even though he goes a little off track occasionally.

The video’s description reads, “Jeffry Wert talked about the Confederate and Union generals who engaged in the 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign. He spoke about how the commanding generals in the region, Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee, viewed the Shenandoah Valley from a strategic standpoint. Mr. Wert also discussed the personalities of the generals sent by Grant and Lee to fight in the valley, and how this affected the outcome of the campaign. ‘About Played Out’: The 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign and Its Military and Political Significance’ was part of the four-day conference titled ‘Atlanta, the Shenandoah, and the Turn to Total War,’ held at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel and Conference Center.”
