Here’s Professor Douglas Egerton of LeMoyne College speaking on Black activism during Reconstruction. This was part of the Road From Appomattox symposium at the Library of Virginia on February 20, 2016. The video’s description reads, “Professor Douglas Egerton talked about black activism during the Civil War and into the early years of Reconstruction. He spoke about the series of conventions organized by activists in both northern and southern states in which African Americans met to organize their fight for equal rights and the right to vote.”
