Check Your Sources

A certain meme purported to be from the Fox News Facebook page is making its way around the internet.

The vast majority of people seeing this believe it’s true. It’s not. Folks, if the serious study of history teaches us anything, it teaches us to check our sources.

First, let’s take a look at that Facebook page:

At first glance, it looks legitimate. But what should be there that isn’t there?

Here’s what the real Fox News page looks like:

There are a few differences. For one, the timeline on the right is much longer. For another, the real page is in the “Media/News/Publishing category, not “Community.” Most importantly, the real page has a “Verify” check mark showing it’s been verified as the actual page and not a spoof page.

Next, let’s take a look at some of the rest of the alleged stories on the suspect site.

Seriously, folks, check your sources. Otherwise, you might end up with egg on your face by thinking, “How Sharper Than a Serpent’s Tooth … is a thankless obligee”  Oopsie.
