Remembering the Civil War Class Lecture

Here’s Professor Robert Wolff of Central Connecticut State University in a class on Civil War Memory. It’s a pretty good lecture. The video’s description says, “Robert Wolff talked about how the memory of the Civil War had changed since its 50th and 100th anniversaries. He spoke about how the memory of the Civil War was largely focused on men’s experience in battle, leaving slaves and women out of the story. He argued that at the sesquicentennial anniversary the narrative was more nuanced, but the overall meaning of the Civil War was still being debated. This class was from his course titled, ‘Civil War and Reconstruction in the United States.’ ”
