Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis as Commander-in-Chief

Here’s a discussion between Harold Holzer, James M. McPherson, and William C. “Jack” Davis [no relation to Jefferson Davis] discussing the performances of the two men.  From the video’s description: “This week on The Civil War, a discussion about Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis as opposing commanders-in-chief. Historians Harold Holzer, James McPherson, and William Davis talk about how and why the experienced Jefferson Davis faltered, while the untested Abraham Lincoln triumphed during the war. The New-York Historical Society hosted this event. It’s a little over an hour.”

  1. Good. This will cheer me up. Dodgers just lost and I’m in a foul mood. Hearing JMcP praise Lincoln and tear apart Davis will do my heart good.
