Slavery at White Haven

Here’s another short video from the NPS and the good folks at the Jefferson National Parks Association.  This covers slavery at White Haven.  The video’s description says, “Ulysses S. Grant was one of the greatest civil rights presidents in American history, serving from 1869 to 1877, and his legacy on behalf of African American citizenship laid the foundation for future generations. Yet in the 1850s,he lived among dozens of African American slaves at White Haven in St. Louis, Missouri. Discover the stories of slavery in Grant’s life at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site.”
